Responsibilities:

Find and contact qualifying Ethiopian businesses.
Reach the correct owner, manager, finance person, importer/exporter, or other relevant decision-maker.
Conduct structured interviews using questions we provide.
Ask follow-up questions when an answer is unclear.
Focus on real recent experiences, problems and events—not guesses or general opinions.
Record responses accurately.
Keep interviewees and businesses clearly identified for internal verification.
Submit organized interview notes and research results.
Clearly distinguish what the interviewee said from your own interpretation.
Never invent, estimate or fabricate responses.

We are looking for someone who:

Is confident contacting businesses and speaking with decision-makers.
Can get people to participate in interviews.
Has strong communication and interviewing skills.
Is persistent, professional and trustworthy.
Can work independently without constant supervision.
Can speak Amharic fluently; English ability is also preferred.
Has experience in market research, sales, field research, interviewing, business development, journalism, survey work or similar work.
Understands Ethiopian businesses and how to reach them effectively.

Important:
We are more interested in your ability to get high-quality information from real businesses than in formal academic research experience.
