Conduct professional coffee cupping and sensory evaluation of green and roasted coffee samples.
Evaluate coffee based on aroma, flavor, acidity, body, sweetness, balance, aftertaste, and overall quality.
Identify defects, quality issues, and distinctive flavor characteristics in coffee samples.
Grade and classify coffee according to applicable Ethiopian and international coffee quality standards.
Prepare accurate cupping reports, quality records, and sample evaluation results.
Conduct pre-shipment and quality-control cupping to ensure coffee meets buyer specifications.
Work closely with sourcing, processing, warehouse, and export teams to maintain consistent coffee quality.
Support the selection and approval of coffee lots for local and international buyers.
Provide technical feedback to suppliers, producers, and processing teams to improve coffee quality.
Maintain proper records of samples, grades, cupping scores, origins, lots, and quality results.
Participate in buyer sample preparation, quality verification, and customer-specific coffee evaluations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional cupping laboratory and ensure proper cupping procedures.
Stay updated on international coffee quality, sensory evaluation, and specialty coffee trends.
Q Grader certification or equivalent professional coffee sensory/quality certification is a strong advantage.
