Description:

The Senior Finance Officer is entrusted with managing key financial functions across the organization, maintaining accurate records in Peachtree Accounting software, executing periodical accounts closing, and ensuring full compliance with Ethiopian tax laws. This role requires close collaboration with multiple departments to promote financial efficiency, accountability, and transparency throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:(but not limited to)

· Responsible for preparation/review of monthly accounts.

· Execute and manage daily financial operations, data entry, and ledger maintenance using Peachtree Accounting software.

· Perform end-of-period financial closing activities (monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts closing), including trial balance preparation and adjusting entries.

· Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations and timely reporting to relevant authorities.

· Calculate and audit operational costs, maintaining adherence to budgets.

· Organize and manage financial documents for auditing and reporting purposes.

· Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.

· Handle bank transactions, ensuring compliance and maintaining relationships with banking partners.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or related field (Master’s preferred).

· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting (SACCO or MFI experience is a plus).

· Proficiency in Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.

· Understanding of Cooperative/SACCO rules, regulations, and reporting standards.

· Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial software and MS Office, especially Excel.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

· Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
