We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Freelance Layout Designer to support a high-volume publication project. The ideal candidate will possess advanced typesetting, text formatting, and grid-alignment skills, specifically optimized for long-form manuals and technical publications. You will work closely with senior designers and art directors to convert dense manuscripts into highly readable, publication-ready print and digital formats.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

· Primary Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (.AI) is an absolute requirement.

· Experience managing linked vector assets and locking grids natively inside Illustrator is essential.

· Direct experience in book formatting, editorial typesetting, data visualization layout, or technical document engineering at scale.

· Strong understanding of layout, including optical line lengths, proportional leading, color contrast accessibility, and pre-press prep.

· Ability to strictly follow brand visual guidelines and technical checklists with zero visual drift.

· Comfortable working within precise daily production milestones and fast turnaround windows.

Project Details & Timeline:
Role Type: Remote Freelance Contract.
Timeline: Production runs between August and September 2026.
Workload: Task-based page yields mapped directly to structured production sprints.
