The Senior Accountant is responsible for recording financials transactions, journal entries, posting , Account receivable and Account payable processing, conduct bank reconciliations, ledger and undertake monthly and annual financial statements/reports and closing processes

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, or with related field of study

Experience:

5 -6 years in accounting, with at least 2 years in Proven experience as an accounting supervisor, senior accountant , Good Experience with general ledger , journal , posting functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Quantity Required: 1

Term of Employment: Permanent (after completion of probation period)

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

Maintain general ledger and journal entries

Lead and undertake month-end and year-end closing processes

Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures

Oversee daily accounting activities and cash management

Ensure timely payment of taxes, and compliance with tax regulations

Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits

Coordinate with banks, suppliers, and government bodies( tax Authorities)

Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, ERP systems, IFRS)

Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

In-depth understanding of GAAP and IFRS

Familiarity with financial accounting statements/reports

Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

Time management & Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Advanced MS Excel skills(MS Office Pack: Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Power point)

Good communication & adaptability

Strong attention to detail and accuracy
