About Alet Technology

Alet Technology is an Ethiopian technology company building and operating digital infrastructure and services for the local market. Our projects include AletCloud — Ethiopia's sovereign cloud platform — alongside our bulk SMS and messaging platform, cloud call-center services, and other digital products serving Ethiopian businesses.

Everything we run is built and hosted inside Ethiopia.

The role

We're looking for our on-camera host — the person Ethiopian businesses see, recognize, and trust when they encounter Alet Technology online.

You are in front of the camera, in Amharic and English, producing 20–24 videos per month. We already have a videographer and an editor, so you don't shoot and you don't edit. Your job is the two things they can't do: be genuinely good on camera, and come up with what we should be making.

The creative half matters as much as the hosting half. We don't want someone waiting for a script. We want someone who watches what's working, notices what our customers keep asking, and walks in on Monday with five ideas worth filming.

You'll also join our marketing and technical colleagues on visits to potential clients at their offices — not to sell, but because you're the face they've already seen online, and because real customer conversations are where the best content comes from.

You do not need a technology background. You need presence, ideas, and consistency — we'll teach you the products.

What you'll do
On camera — the core of the job
Host 20–24 videos per month — roughly five to six per week
Present for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, Telegram, and LinkedIn
Explain our services in clear, simple Amharic and English — no jargon, no reading off a page
Cover a real range: product explainers, customer questions answered, quick tips, announcements, event coverage, customer stories

Confident, natural, and engaging on camera — the single most important requirement
Strong creative instinct — you arrive with ideas, not requests for direction
Excellent spoken Amharic and English — clear, warm, easy to follow
Able to sustain 20–24 videos per month consistently
Able to write your own scripts and hooks
Active understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Telegram — what performs and why
1–2 years hosting, presenting, creating content, or in a similar public-facing role — personal channels count
Presentable and professional in business settings — you'll be in client offices representing the company
Curious about technology and willing to learn our products properly
Available to travel around Addis Ababa for client visits and shoots

Nice to have
An existing audience or a portfolio of published video content
Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or Media
Experience presenting for a brand, media outlet, or agency
Able to film yourself on a phone for quick reactive posts when a trend won't wait for a shoot day
Basic editing familiarity — enough to communicate clearly with our editor
Design sense (Canva, Figma)
Any exposure to technology, cloud services, or B2B products

Write and refine your own scripts, hooks, and talking points
Build and maintain the content calendar with the marketing team
Watch the platforms: track trends, formats, sounds, and what competitors and other Ethiopian brands are doing well
Turn real customer questions into content — the ones support hears daily and prospects ask in meetings
Direct your own pieces: brief the videographer on what you're going for, review the editor's cuts, and make sure the final video says what you meant
Test new formats and be honest about what didn't work
Community
Reply to comments and direct messages; keep the audience engaged
Route genuine sales enquiries to marketing, and support questions to our support desk
Track performance — reach, views, engagement, follower growth
