A growing financial advisory firm is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Research Officer to join its expanding team.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct fundamental research on Ethiopian companies, industries, and investment opportunities.
Analyze financial statements, business models, market trends, and company performance.
Develop financial models and perform DCF, comparable company, and other valuation analyses.
Monitor macroeconomic, regulatory, and capital-market developments.
Prepare investment research reports, investment memoranda, and analytical presentations.
Conduct sector research and develop insights across key Ethiopian industries.
Support senior advisors with financial analysis, research, and client assignments.
Provide clear, data-driven investment insights and recommendations.
Stay updated on developments from ECMA and the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX).

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in investment research, equity research, corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, valuation, management consulting, or a related field.
Strong financial statement analysis and IFRS knowledge.
Advanced Microsoft Excel financial modeling and valuation skills.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional proficiency in English and Amharic.
Ability to work independently in a fast-growing and evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

CFA Level II candidate or above is strongly preferred.
Experience in equity research, investment banking, or capital markets.
Experience with financial modeling and company valuation.
Knowledge of Ethiopia’s emerging capital-market ecosystem.
Familiarity with ECMA and/or ESX.

ECMA Licensing

The candidate must be eligible for individual Research Officer licensing with the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) and meet the applicable competency and fit-and-proper requirements.
