Job Description: Accountant

Position Title: Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports To: General Manager

Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing day-to-day accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations. The role supports effective financial management and contributes to the company's operational success.

Key Responsibilities

Record and maintain accurate financial transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts.
Monitor cash flow and maintain proper financial records.
Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
Maintain accounting records in accordance with company policies.
Prepare payroll and ensure timely salary payments where applicable.
Identify and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (preferred).
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of tax regulations and financial compliance.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
