Overview
We're looking for a skilled video editor to bring our short scripts to life. You'll work remotely, using your own equipment, to edit engaging, well-paced videos from raw footage/voiceover into polished, publish ready content.

Responsibilities

Edit short-form story videos (~3 minutes average) from raw footage, voiceover, and B-roll
Cut for pacing, rhythm, and emotional impact to match the story's hook, arc, and payoff
Add captions/subtitles (Amharic and English as needed), sound design, music, and basic color correction
Sync audio (voiceover/dialogue) tightly with visuals
Collaborate with writers and directors to interpret scripts into a compelling final cut
Revise edits quickly based on feedback
Deliver videos in platform-appropriate formats
Manage and organize project files/footage efficiently

Requirements

Own laptop capable of running video editing software smoothly (required — this is a remote, bring-your-own-equipment role)
Proficiency in CapCut and/or Adobe Premiere Pro (at least one required; both a strong plus)
Portfolio or reel showcasing previous short-form video editing work
Strong sense of pacing, timing, and storytelling through editing
Experience with captions/subtitles, basic sound design, and color grading
Ability to work independently and meet fast turnaround deadlines
Reliable internet connection for remote collaboration and file transfers

Nice to Have

Experience editing vertical/social-first video content (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)
Familiarity with Amharic-language content
Basic motion graphics or animation skills
Experience with sound design/mixing tools
