Job Summary

The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products through effective testing processes. The role involves designing test plans, executing manual and automated tests, identifying defects, and working closely with developers and product teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance & Testing

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Perform functional, integration, regression, usability, and performance testing.
Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
Ensure software products meet business and technical requirements before release.

2. Test Planning & Strategy

Participate in requirement analysis and provide quality-related feedback.
Create and maintain QA documentation, test scenarios, and testing standards.
Recommend improvements to testing processes and quality standards.

3. Automation Testing

Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable.
Support the implementation and improvement of test automation frameworks.
Monitor and analyze automated test results.

4. Collaboration

Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality concerns to relevant teams.

5. Defect Management

Log, prioritize, and track defects using approved tools.
Verify bug fixes and ensure issues are resolved before release.
Assist in root cause analysis for recurring quality issues.

6. Team Support and Mentorship

Provide guidance and support to QA Engineers and Associate QA Engineers.
Share best practices, testing methodologies, and quality standards with the team.
Support onboarding and training of new QA team members.

7. Continuous Improvement

Stay updated on industry trends, testing tools, and quality assurance best practices.
Recommend and implement improvements to QA processes and workflows.
Contribute to building a quality-focused culture within the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Testing.
Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing methodologies.
Experience with bug tracking and test management tools.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
