Job Description

Senior Accountant

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background with experience in import and export operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Handle import and export accounting transactions, including foreign currency transactions and Letters of Credit (LCs).
Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards.
Prepare and submit tax reports and statutory filings.
Coordinate with banks, auditors, suppliers, and customers on financial matters.
Assist management with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
Support external and internal audits.
Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an accountant.
Experience in import/export accounting is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and accounting standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
High integrity and attention to detail.
