Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–5 years of relevant accounting experience. Candidates with 2 years may be considered if they have independently managed accounting responsibilities.
Experience in manufacturing, food production, FMCG, retail, or hospitality is strongly preferred.
Strong proficiency in Peachtree/Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel.
Comfortable working with or learning ERP and POS systems such as Odoo.
Practical knowledge of Ethiopian tax procedures, eTax, TASS, Ministry of Revenue requirements, and financial reporting standards.
Strong written and spoken Amharic and good working English.
Available to work full-time and primarily on-site.
High integrity, discretion, reliability, and attention to detail. References will be checked.

Key Responsibilities

Record and maintain daily sales, purchases, expenses, payments, receipts, inventory movements, and journal entries.
Maintain accurate customer, supplier, cash, bank, and general ledger records.
Conduct regular bank, cash, POS, payment, and inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies promptly.
Manage petty cash, payment documentation, receivables, payables, and short-term cash flow requirements.
Prepare monthly payroll and reconcile attendance, overtime, leave, deductions, advances, payroll taxes, and pension contributions.
Prepare and submit VAT, withholding tax, employment income tax, pension, and other statutory obligations on time.
Maintain organised records for tax inspections, audits, and annual account closure.
Monitor and record raw materials, production output, work in progress, finished goods, wastage, damaged goods, samples, and other inventory movements.
Support product costing, including materials, packaging, labour, production overheads, landed costs, and wastage.
Participate in stock counts, investigate variances, and monitor gross margins and production costs.
Prepare monthly financial and management reports, including Profit and Loss statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow summaries, receivables and payables ageing, tax liabilities, and inventory reports.
Identify financial risks, unusual transactions, control issues, and discrepancies and escalate them promptly.
Maintain proper documentation, approval processes, internal controls, and confidentiality of company financial information.
Support the development and improvement of accounting systems and financial procedures.
