Job Description

Job Vacancy: Senior Accountant
Company: JAB Engineering and Business PLC
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ( Gofa mebrat)
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience Level: 2-3 Years
Key Responsibilities
Financial Cycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end accounting cycle, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, balanced, and maintained within our accounting software.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Prepare, verify, and timely submit monthly regulatory requirements to the Ethiopian Customs and Revenues Authority (ERCA), including VAT, Withholding Tax, Employee Income Tax (POYE), and pension contributions.
Trade Accounting: Monitor and record financial documentation.
Reporting & Reconciliation: Generate monthly financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements) for management review. Perform rigorous monthly bank, supplier, and petty cash reconciliations.
Audit & Documentation Readiness: Organize, and maintain pristine financial records ensuring the company is fully prepared for annual internal and external audits.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Accounting & Finance.
Experience: 3 to 4 years of solid professional experience in accounting.
Technical Competencies:
High proficiency in Peachtree Accounting is mandatory.
Advanced command of Microsoft Excel (data sorting, complex formulas, financial tracking).
Strong working knowledge of current Ethiopian financial laws, tax policies, and commercial banking procedures.
Interpersonal Skills: High ethical integrity, sharp critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both operations and technical management teams.
