The Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance Department by recording financial transactions, maintaining accounting records, preparing reconciliations, assisting with payments, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Record daily financial transactions accurately and on time.
Prepare journal entries and post them to the accounting system.
Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents.
Reconcile bank accounts, cash, and ledger balances.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Prepare and process payroll payments after obtaining the necessary approvals.
Prepare and submit monthly tax declarations, including employment income tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and pension contributions, within the statutory deadlines.
Prepare tax payment schedules and reconcile tax accounts with the accounting records.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documents.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial documents.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Perform any other accounting duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Knowledge and Skills

Basic knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS.
Familiarity with accounting software (Peachtree).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure
