The role
We are looking for a modern, trend-driven graphics designer who knows what great design looks like today. This is the lead design role at Axova. You will own how Axova looks and feels across every surface: social, ads, product, print and video. You will set the creative standard, build the systems that keep it consistent, and produce work that drives merchant sign-ups. You will work directly with the founders, the Brand Content Lead and our in-house production studio.

About Axova
Axova is building the commerce operating system for Ethiopia. Storefronts, marketplace, point of sale, delivery and AI tools come together in one platform, built so any merchant can sell online and run their business from one place. We are entering launch, and our brand needs to look as strong as the product behind it.

What we’re looking for

4+ years of professional graphics and brand design experience, ideally in tech, fintech, e-commerce or an agency
A portfolio that shows brand identity systems, not only individual posts
Expert in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Figma
Strong understanding of modern design trends and how to apply them
Strong in advanced AI image generation and AI design tools
Uses AI to speed up exploration without losing quality
Strong typography, including Amharic (Ge’ez script) layout
Understands design for performance: hierarchy, clear calls to action, and designing for mobile first
Delivers high volume under tight deadlines and stays consistent
Motion (After Effects) or UI/UX experience is a strong plus
Clear communicator in Amharic and English

What you’ll own

Brand system: evolve Axova’s identity, including guidelines, typography, color, iconography, illustration style and a full template library
Campaign creative: lead the visual direction for the launch, product releases and seasonal campaigns
Performance design: social posts, carousels, ad creatives and thumbnails, with testing of variations to see what converts
Product and web: marketing pages, app store assets and in-app visuals, working with the product team in Figma
Merchant materials: onboarding guides, pitch decks, print and event collateral
Bilingual design: Amharic and English layouts done right, with proper Ge’ez typography
Studio collaboration: brief and support the video editor and motion designer so every piece stays on-brand

Why Axova
- Define the visual identity of a national commerce platform from the ground up
- Full creative ownership, with direct access to the founders
- Work alongside an in-house studio of host, camera, video and motion
- Grow into Head of Design as the team expands
Hiring process
1. Portfolio review
2. Interview with the founders
How to apply
Send your portfolio (Behance, Dribbble, Drive or a personal site), plus a short note on a brand project you led and its results.
