Main roles & responsibilities

Bookkeeping & financial records

Record daily sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.

Maintain the general ledger and supporting documentation.

Reconcile cash, bank, receivables, and payables.

Accounts receivable & payable

Track customer balances and outstanding invoices.

Follow up on overdue payments.

Verify supplier invoices and prepare payments.

Maintain supplier/customer statements.

3. Tax & statutory compliance

Prepare withholding-tax calculations/records.

Prepare information needed for tax filings and audits.

Keep proper tax documentation.

4. Bank & cash management

Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

Monitor cash balances and expected payments.

Verify deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and bank charges.

Maintain petty cash.

5. Import accounting

Record imported goods and related costs.

Track customs, freight, insurance, bank charges, and other import costs.

Calculate the landed cost of imported medical supplies.

Reconcile import documentation with accounting records.

6. Inventory accounting

Reconcile accounting records with physical inventory.

Track purchases, sales, returns, damaged/expired items, and adjustments.

Assist with periodic stock counts.

Identify discrepancies between stock and accounting records.

7. Payroll

Prepare monthly payroll.

Calculate deductions and statutory contributions.

Maintain employee salary records.

Coordinate payroll payments.

8. Financial reporting

Prepare monthly:

Profit & Loss statement

Balance sheet

Cash-flow information

Receivables/payables reports

Inventory reports
