Key Responsibilities

Daily Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate daily financial records, including tracking income, expenses, and general ledger entries.

Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations of bank accounts, petty cash, and supplier/customer statements to ensure data integrity.

Tax Compliance:

Calculate, prepare, and post VAT returns accurately and on time.

Manage Withholding Tax documentation and filings.

Ensure all tax submissions meet the requirements set by the Ethiopian Ministry of Revenues.

Payroll Administration: Process monthly payroll, including salary computation, tax deductions (Employment Income Tax), and pension contributions.

Liaison with Authorities: Serve as the company representative for all tax-related matters, including frequent visits to the Tax Office for filings, audits, and resolving administrative inquiries.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the Ethiopian market.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ethiopian tax laws, labor laws, and reporting requirements.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the company professionally when interacting with government officials.

Integrity: High level of confidentiality and ethical standards.
