Job Title:

English/Amharic to Chinese Translator

Department:

Administration / Project Coordination
Reports To: Deputy General Manager / Project Manager
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose:

To translate and interpret between English, Amharic, and Chinese (Mandarin) to ensure smooth communication between Ethiopian staff, management, and Chinese experts in meetings, documents, and project operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Translate written documents (letters, reports, contracts, etc.) between English/Amharic and Chinese.
Provide real-time interpretation during meetings and site discussions.
Support cross-department communication between Chinese and Ethiopian teams.
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all translations.
Assist in preparing bilingual reports and correspondence.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language, Linguistics, Translation, or related field.
Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English/Amharic (spoken and written).
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a translator/interpreter (preferably in engineering or international companies).
Excellent communication, cultural adaptability, and computer skills.

Working Hours:

Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
