The Junior Architect / Technical Assistant supports the design, detailing, and production of standard and custom furniture and interior fit-out works. The role includes preparing design concepts, presentations, technical drawings, shop drawings, and production documentation, along with quantity take-offs and cost estimation. The position ensures ergonomic, practical, cost-efficient, and manufacturable design solutions and serves as a bridge between design, documentation, and production workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing interior, and furniture design concepts under supervision
Prepare 2D drawings, technical drawings, shop drawings, and 3D visualizations
Develop joinery details, fabrication drawings, and cutting lists
Perform quantity take-offs and support BOQs and cost estimation
Coordinate with production teams, suppliers, and site teams
Support project planning, presentations, and implementation activities
Participate in site visits, supervision, and installation follow-up
Conduct research on materials, design trends, and innovations
Assist management with technical documentation, proposals, and coordination
Ensure designs are innovative, practical, and aligned with manufacturing processes

Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit (mandatory)
Knowledge of 3D visualization tools (3Ds Max, Lumion, Rhino or similar)
Understanding of furniture materials, joinery, and production processes
Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva)
Strong quantity surveying and cost estimation skills
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and report writing
Creative thinking and strong aesthetic sense
Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field
1–3 years of relevant experience in architecture, interior, or furniture design
Portfolio demonstrating design capability and technical documentation
Experience in shop drawings and BOQ preferred
Experience in manufacturing furniture or fit-out projects is an advantage
