Dololo Import and Export Plc is looking for skilled and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our import and export company. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting principles, financial analysis, The Junior Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reports to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

Prepare withholding tax, VAT, employee income tax, and pension summaries for monthly tax declarations. Additionally, prepare monthly purchase and sales summaries on the ERCA online system (TASS).
maintaining financial records and general ledgers by recording transactions, journal entries, and adjustments accurately and timely
Prepare and process invoices, bills, expense reports, and other financial documents for payment or reimbursement, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of record
Record customer receipts and support accounts receivable activities including statement management and reconciliations
Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger with accuracy and timeliness
Assist with month end tasks including accruals, prepayments and ledger close activities
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting
Support payroll administration by providing required data and reconciliations where applicable
Maintain fixed asset register and process depreciation schedules as directed
Support preparation of VAT or other statutory returns by compiling calculated figures and supporting records
Assist with audit preparation by collating requested schedules and evidence
Maintain petty cash and process reimbursements in line with policy

Requirements:

1 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, ideally within a finance team
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and double entry bookkeeping
Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks under supervision
Competent with spreadsheets and standard office applications
Clear written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interactions
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and to follow established procedures
