Job Title: Fire Protection Foreman

Job Summary

The Fire Protection Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation, construction, and maintenance of fire protection piping systems in buildings and industrial facilities. The role requires strong technical knowledge of fire safety standards, pipe layout drawings, and installation procedures to ensure that all fire protection systems are installed according to approved designs, safety codes, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and lead the installation of fire protection piping systems such as sprinkler systems, fire hydrant systems, and fire suppression systems.

Interpret and follow pipe layout drawings, technical specifications, and project plans.

Ensure installation work complies with fire safety standards, building codes, and project requirements.

Coordinate daily activities of technicians, pipe fitters, and installation teams.

Monitor work progress and ensure projects are completed on time and within quality standards.

Inspect installed piping systems and verify proper alignment, pressure requirements, and system functionality.

Maintain workplace safety and ensure all team members follow health and safety regulations.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other construction teams to resolve technical issues.

Prepare daily work reports and progress updates.

Assist in system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of fire protection systems.

Required Qualifications

College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields:

Mechanical Engineering

Fire Protection Engineering

Building Services Engineering

Industrial Technology

Or related technical field.

Work Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fire protection system installation or construction.

At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or foreman role is preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and fire safety standards.

Ability to read and interpret pipe layout drawings and construction plans.

Experience with sprinkler systems, fire hydrant systems, and fire alarm coordination.

Good leadership and team management skills.

Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Knowledge of international standards such as National Fire Protection Association standards is an advantage.

Preferred Certifications (Optional)

Fire safety or fire protection system installation certification.

Occupational safety training.

Experience working with international fire standards such as NFPA guidelines.
