Position: School Accountant

Location: Asko Progress Academy/Addis Ababa, Asko branch]

Job Summary

Asko Progress Academy is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented School Accountant to manage the school’s financial operations efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and school policies.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting and financial transactions of the school

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, fees, and payroll

Manage student fee collection, invoicing, and reconciliation

Prepare and monitor the school budget and cash flow

Ensure compliance with tax laws, government regulations, and internal policies

Handle bank reconciliations and coordinate with auditors

Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records

Support school management with financial planning and analysis

Other Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a school or educational institution

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail

Good organizational and time-management skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication skills
