Freelance Graphic Designer (Book Design & Print Specialist)

Digital Birhan Communications is looking for an experienced Freelance Graphic Designer with a strong background in book design and print production to join our creative team.

Key Responsibilities

Design and layout books using Adobe InDesign (mandatory)
Prepare print-ready files according to professional printing standards
Work closely with printing houses to ensure correct color, layout, binding, and finishing
Handle revisions efficiently while maintaining high-quality design standards
Collaborate closely with the in-house creative team

Required Qualifications

Proven experience in book design and layout (multiple years preferred)
Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign
Strong understanding of printing processes, including:
CMYK & RGB color modes
Bleeds, margins, imposition, and binding
Paper types and finishing
Practical experience working directly with print shops
Ability to deliver press-ready and print-optimized files
Portfolio with multiple book designs is mandatory

Work Arrangement

Freelance / Project-based
Must be available to work 2–3 hours per day
Must bring own capable laptop/computer
On-site presence required for coordination and reviews

Preferred Skills

High attention to detail
Strong time management and deadline handling
Good communication and teamwork skills
Agency experience is an advantage
