Position Title: Business Wing Manager

Reports To: Partnership & Resource Mobilization Director

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Charity and Development Association is a civic organization with over 3 decades of humanitarian service.

Job Summary

 The Manager will lead the overall planning, coordination, and management of the PLC’s business operations. The role involves identifying investment opportunities, developing business strategies, supervising daily activities, ensuring profitability, and maintaining strong partnerships with stakeholders.  

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and manage new business opportunities and investment ventures.

• Develop and implement strategic and operational business plans aligned with organizational objectives.

• Oversee day-to-day business operations and ensure effective resource utilization.

• Prepare and monitor annual budgets, sales forecasts, and financial performance reports.

• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies.

 • Lead marketing, branding, and promotional initiatives to grow the business. • Supervise and build the capacity of business unit staff for improved performance.

 • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, tax, and financial regulations.

• Provide periodic performance reports to the Board and Management.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.

 • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in business management, enterprise development, or managing startups — preferably in a PLC or social enterprise setting.

 • Strong business development and market analysis skills,

 • Sound understanding of Ethiopian business laws, taxation, and corporate governance.

 • Strong leadership, analytical and financial management skills.

 • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills

 • Computer proficiency, strong business planning and reporting skills 

Salary and Benefits

 Competitive and negotiable based on experience and qualifications, as per CDA’s salary scale and PLC business performance.
