We focus on fast delivery, excellent customer service, and technology-driven operations.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily delivery operations, managing riders, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, maintaining service quality, handling customer issues, and contributing to business growth. This role requires strong leadership, logistics experience, and a high level of organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Daily Operations Management

Plan, coordinate, and supervise all daily delivery activities.
Assign delivery orders and optimize routes for speed and fuel efficiency.
Monitor real-time order status via tracking system.
Ensure on-time delivery performance and reduce delays.
Handle operational emergencies quickly and effectively.

2️⃣ Rider & Fleet Management

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate riders.
Prepare rider schedules, shifts, and attendance tracking.
Monitor rider behavior, safety, and service quality.
Ensure all motorcycles/bikes are maintained, fueled, and in safe condition.
Manage rider payouts, fuel allowances, and incentive programs.

3️⃣ Customer & Client Relations

Serve as the main point of contact for customer feedback and complaints.
Ensure all customer issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
Maintain good relationships with corporate clients and vendors.
Support onboarding of new business clients.

4️⃣ Cash Handling & Reporting

Oversee COD (Cash on Delivery) collections and ensure accurate reconciliation.
Verify rider payments and daily cash deposits.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Track operational costs (fuel, maintenance, rider expenses).

5️⃣ Process Management & Technology

Use delivery management systems and rider apps effectively.
Monitor system performance and report issues to the tech team.
Participate in testing and improving new app features.
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency.
Ensure riders follow company processes and guidelines.

6️⃣ Performance Monitoring

Track rider KPIs: on-time rate, delivery count, customer feedback, cash accuracy.
Conduct weekly meetings to review performance and address issues.
Create strategies to reduce delays, boost customer satisfaction, and control costs.

7️⃣ Team Leadership

Lead the operations team with discipline, motivation, and fairness.
Develop a positive work culture and team spirit.
Provide training, coaching, and continuous performance evaluation.

Qualifications

Education

Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related fields.

Experience

Above 3 years of experience in logistics, delivery operations, transportation, or fleet management.
Experience managing riders or drivers is strongly preferred.
Experience working with a delivery company (Ride Delivery, Feres, Deliver Addis, etc.) is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
Strong knowledge of Addis Ababa roads and traffic patterns.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic financial understanding (cash reconciliation, reporting).
Good computer skills (Excel, Google Sheets, mobile apps).
Familiarity with tracking systems or delivery management software.
