Job Description

Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary:

AddisFly is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage financial transactions, prepare reports, reconcile accounts, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and handle budgeting, expense tracking, and financial analysis to support the company’s financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, maintain accurate financial records, and regularly reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
Bookkeeping & Reporting: Prepare financial reports, assist with budgets and forecasts, and monitor expenses, revenues, and financial trends to support decision-making.
Tax & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations, prepare and file VAT and payroll taxes, and liaise with auditors and tax authorities.
Payroll & Expense Management: Process payroll accurately and on time, track business expenses and reimbursements, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize financial efficiency.
Collaboration & Advisory: Provide financial insights and recommendations to management, support teams with financial transactions, and assist in developing internal financial policies and controls.
Training: Stay updated on the latest travel industry trends, booking software updates, and company policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: 0-1 years in accounting, preferably in travel or service industry.
Technical & Financial Skills: Proficient in accounting software (Peachtree, ERP systems), Microsoft Office, and familiar with Ethiopian tax laws. Strong bookkeeping and reporting skills.
Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Amharic.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling bookings and customer information.
Sales Skills: Proven ability to meet sales targets and promote travel packages.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot booking issues and provide effective solutions.

Working Conditions:

Office Environment: Primarily office-based with potential for remote customer interactions.
Working Hours: Full-time position with standard working hours. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
