As an Academic Content writer, you will analyze past regional (grade 6&8) examination questions and convert them into structured educational content that will be used by teachers to create learning materials.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong academic backgrounds who enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations.

You will not be required to appear on camera or create videos. Instead, you will develop the instructional materials that power our learning platform.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze past national examination papers.
Categorize questions by subject, unit, topic, and subtopic.
Identify the learning objectives and concepts being tested.
Assess question difficulty levels using Mela Academy guidelines.
Develop clear, step-by-step solution breakdowns.
Identify common student mistakes and misconceptions.
Create concise concept explanations.
Prepare teacher-friendly walkthrough scripts.
Maintain accuracy and consistency across all content.
Collaborate with reviewers and subject matter experts to improve content quality.

Deliverables

For each assigned question, you will be expected to produce:

Curriculum mapping
Topic classification
Difficulty assessment
Step-by-step solution
Concept explanation
Common student mistakes
Teacher walkthrough script

All work will be completed using Google Workspace tools provided by us.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

Have strong knowledge in one or more academic subjects.
Can explain concepts clearly and logically.
Pay close attention to detail.
Are highly organized and capable of working independently.
Have excellent written communication skills.
Are comfortable working remotely and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
University student, graduate, or teacher.
Background in Education, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, English, Social Sciences, or related fields.
Experience tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or developing educational content.
Familiarity with Ethiopian national examination curricula is an advantage.
