# Job Requirements: Local Logistics Assistant (Ethiopia)
## Core Responsibilities & Qualifications
### 1. Basic Qualification
- Possess at least 1 year of relevant working experience in import logistics, customs clearance or container freight operation in Ethiopia.

### 2. Core Job Duties
1. Tax Exemption Application
Prepare, submit and follow up all application documents for duty exemption and tax relief for imported containerized goods; ensure all procedures comply with local Ethiopian customs regulations and complete approval efficiently.

2. Import License Processing
Apply for, renew and manage various import permits and official certifications required for container cargo import. Verify document validity and guarantee all import formalities are fully compliant.

3. Container Shipment Follow-up
Track the whole progress of imported containers, including port arrival, customs inspection, terminal handling, container pick-up, delivery and empty container return. Timely report operational status, risks and abnormal issues to the supervisor.

4. Demurrage & Detention Fee Calculation
Accurately calculate extra container detention fees and port demurrage fees incurred due to delays. Sort out relevant charge bills, verify fee details and keep complete cost records.

5. Document Filing & Management
Classify, organize and archive all import documents, customs papers, application forms, licenses, fee invoices and container operation records in standard order. Ensure documents are well-kept, traceable and easy to retrieve.

6. Daily Coordination
Liaise closely with local customs authorities, port terminals, shipping lines, freight forwarders and related government departments to smooth import and container operations.
