We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Translator proficient in Afan Oromo and Amharic with a strong preference for those with experience in legal translation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both languages, exceptional translation skills, and the ability to accurately convey complex legal and general information. Experience in translating other foreign languages is highly encouraged. This role requires a meticulous approach to translation, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained across all documents.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate, clear, and culturally appropriate translations from Amharic to Afan Oromo, English to Amharic, and vice versa as required.
Translate legal documents, contracts, and other specialized materials with a focus on legal terminology and compliance.
Proofread and edit translated texts to ensure accuracy, grammar, and context.
Ensure translations maintain the intended meaning and tone of the original content, adapting for regional dialects where necessary.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure translations meet client or project specifications.
Handle confidential materials with discretion and ensure proper documentation and organization.
Stay updated on language and legal terminology to maintain high translation standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven fluency in Afan Oromo and Amharic, with the ability to translate complex documents accurately.
Experience in legal translation is a major advantage.
Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
Knowledge of additional foreign languages (e.g., French, Arabic, Spanish) is highly encouraged.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle complex translations.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of professional translation experience.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Professional translation certifications (if applicable) are a plus.
