A. Main Role and Responsibilities:
Oversee all front-end checkout operations, including cash handling, daily bank deposits, cash float reconciliation, and ordering change/cash as required.
Supervise, train, and mentor the team of cashiers, scheduling shifts, delegating tasks, and providing performance feedback.
Act as the primary point of escalation for customer complaints or complex transaction issues, ensuring fast, friendly, and professional service.
Monitor POS systems and scanning equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure price and discount accuracy at all registers.
Reconcile daily sales and cash reports, investigate discrepancies, and prepare detailed reports for the finance department.
Manage front-end supplies such as receipt paper, bags, and cleaning items to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Enforce internal controls and security procedures related to cash handling to prevent fraud, theft, and errors.
Collaborate with store management and department heads to optimize customer flow and operational efficiency.
B. Required Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities for supervising cashiers.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
Excellent customer service and communication skills to manage front-end interactions and escalations.
Proficiency with POS systems, scanning equipment, and basic retail software.
Effective problem-solving skills to quickly resolve operational issues.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment, with flexible availability for various shifts.
C. Preferred Qualification:
Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in retail, with prior supervisory or head cashier experience.
Experience handling high volumes of cash and transactions accurately.
Basic computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
